About Us
SOS 1878 was founded in September 2009 by Joe Jennings, Neil Steele and Dan Wragg.
The admin team at School of Science believe in the club’s motto with a force that probably annihilates rational logic, and won’t rest or be fully satisfied until Everton Football Club are back where they belong at the forefront of the English and European game.
SOS1878 prides itself on regular updates throughout the year with accurate reporting, intelligent articles and all the news from Goodison Park.
What this site is NOT…
1. Official. This site has neither official nor formal connection with Everton Football Club.
2. A Business. We are not part of any media conglomeration; we do not have a constitution; we do not exist as a company, formal partnership, nor other business. We don’t have a bank account. We’re not trying to sell you anything. No-one is paid for their input to the site.
3. Censorious. You can say what you like how you like. The editorial policy will not impinge on what you say unless you’re abusive, a racist, a homophobe, or promoting illegal activity.
Should any of the opinions expressed here run contrary to widely held beliefs, feel free to comment. All comments are the opinions of the individual, and do not represent the views of SOS1878.
A little background on the guys who bring SOS1878 to you…
Joe Jennings
A season-ticket holder of 13 years, the most recent of which being in the Lower Gwladys Street, Joe is a third generation Evertonian currently studying at University.
Charming, handsome, talented, intelligent and the man typing this piece.
Neil Steele
Never afraid to speak his mind, Neil is a passionate Evertonian and self-proclaimed ‘football expert’ who has watched on through some of the club’s most trying times during the 90’s.
Citing the 1995 FA Cup Final win over Manchester United and, perversely, that infamous last day escape against Wimbledon back in ‘94 as his most satisfying Everton moments, Neil has held his season-ticket at Goodison Park for fifteen years. Fully committed to the traditional Everton values “Nil Satis Nisi Optimum” and “The School Of Science” you can always guarantee an opinion as his unswerving strive for perfection goes on.
Dan Wragg
Originally from Liverpool, Dan is a boyhood Blue with vast experience in web design and hosting. Dan has yet to see Everton at the forefront of the English game, but that hasn’t tarnished his love for all things Everton.
Dan is also currently studying at University.
