Arsenal target Jagielka again

Everton’s England international defender Phil Jagielka is on Arsene Wenger’s wish list again this summer but the Blues are not entertaining offers for the commanding centre back, according to Sportsmail.

Arsenal allegedly offered £12m last summer for Jagielka’s services but Everton resisted and have since tied the 28-year-old down to an improved contract and have designs on handing him the club captaincy long term.

The club’s resolve is admirable, but the poor state of the finances leads many to believe that a ‘big’ player will be sold over the course of the summer.

Despite the fact that the club may insist that players aren’t for sale, history tells us that under the current incumbents Everton sell to buy.

Arsenal might be a great footballing side but they are no longer a winner of Trophies he should set his sights higher than them if he leaves

I wouldn’t blame any of our best players for moving on from our ambitionless club.
