Beckford: Goodison is special

In his first real interview with the club since signing at the back end of May, Jermaine Beckford has endeared himself to Evertonians by revealing that Goodison is an “amazing” stadium, and that he can’t wait to play Liverpool come the Merseyside derby in mid September!

The former Leeds hitman, currently in Australia with the rest of the squad on a pre-season tour, took part in a webchat with Blues from all corners of the globe on the club’s official website.

When asked his thoughts on the first purpose built football stadia in England, Beckford couldn’t contain his admiration.

He said: “It’s amazing. I’ve been there once a couple of years ago for a game and the atmosphere was special. I can’t wait to play there.”
