Best game in August
Well, the Everton-less England squad are home. Chile too, but at least they entertained.
The way Chile were darting about, moving the ball, dancing around players, I thought it was a team of Peter Beardsleys.
See more Chilean football at Goodison on Wednesday 4th August for as little as £7 or £3 when Everton play Everton.
Next week, tickets for this unique game go on sale to season ticket holders, with adults paying just £7 during a special one-week-long window starting Monday (July 5th). Junior and OAP season ticket holders pay just £3.
After the discount period for season ticket holders ends, tickets go on general sale, with adults paying £10, while under-16s and OAPs will still be able to buy tickets for £3.
Given that this is a rare opportunity to see a top South American club in action – Everton were champions of Chile in 2008 – these are brilliant prices. Some might say recession-busting.
And it’s quite likely that this will be the best game at Goodison in August.
Please note that season ticket holders will not be automatically allocated their Premier League seat for this game. If you do want your normal season ticket seat, get in early.
The manager of the visiting Everton, Nelson Acosta (manager of Chile when they beat England at Wembley in 1998) has said his team will be treating this game as a cup final. And just before they fly over, they will have played a couple of games in the Chilean League, so they will be flying in more ways than one.

Can’t complain at those prices. I’ll be taking my three lads.
i’m expecting a terrific turnout for this as a doff of the cap to our chilean friends.
