The Casa “crammed”, with what 200 people? 300 perhaps? Don’t get carried away with “The Blue Union” being the voice of the fans…numbers of fans associated with BU are always in the hundreds, not thousands.

Mass leaflets distribution, wow, must have taken a while to come up with that marketing strategy. What if someone refuses to take a leaflet, will they get the same abuse that we get online? (Cue the predictable abuse to this very comment post.) Obviously not an environmentally friendly group then.

So Merseyside police have said no protesting inside the ground. I can see it already, the “core” BU members still protesting inside the ground ignoring their own strategy. May be even one or two people dressed in clown outfits again…awesome.

Where is an online link to the BU prospectus?

  2. mick reynolds says:

The Chelsea game is on the 11th of February. Keep up the pressure. Kenwright out.

  3. Margie says:

Mikey R – You know the line “if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem” ?

Quit being part of the problem.

The BU and others are trying to do something, more power to them.

You want to support a lowly, poor, unambitious club run by a “fan” – try Wolves. We want better.

  4. Graham B says:

When the manager of a football team states that it is his and the players fault that Everton are struggling on the pitch not the board of directors shouldnt people look up and listen.

Everton Football Club need passionate support and the crowd to get behind the team, how many times have you been to GP to hear and see the game change with the 12th man, not much lately. Concentrate your efforts on supporting the team, getting behind them and then see if their is a response from the players/management/board

  5. Bill Kenwrong says:

The best protest you could have is for people not to enter the ground on matchday. Spending the duration of the game just outside the stadium. That would do more than leaflets…

  6. John Cahill says:

Seriously that first poster must and has to be working for the EFC’s boards propaganda machine and I have nothing to do with The Blue Union but I have to say they are starting to win me over.

I would like to ask the first poster what his plans are to take this great club back to where it belongs?

  7. Garry says:

Mikey R is the fight we are up against these are the type of fans that need to be educated and who will be moaning when we are in the championship . It’s ok though mate we have Blue Bill as our chairman. Shame you can’t read Latin otherwise our motto might mean something to you.

  8. Lizardking71 says:

I’m sick and tired of hearing the same old get behind the team garbage. We have gotten behind the team for years now despite the board not doing the same. The board had the perfect chance to show their ‘support’ for the team and the manager in 2009 when we had the best squad in years. Instead they chose not to build on that success but to slowly break that squad and allow it to grow old. Enough is enough.

  9. Mikey R says:

Please read my post again, where did I say that I was happy with the current board of directors or even supporting them? And please, don’t give me that “if your not part of the solution” crap. That is such a narrow minded view, and biased towards BU.

Record straight; we need new owners, that is obvious. What we don’t need is the constant negativity associated with the club from the BU. I, like the majority of fans (wow bet that doesn’t go down well), do not agree with how BU go about their business. It would be nice for KEIOC to take over the reigns, BU as a “brand” is already soured with most of us.

I cannot remember a time when there was such a divide with a small pocket of fans, which tells its own story I guess.

Please tell me what “positive” things BU has genuinely achieved to date. Note, not all publicity is good publicity for a pressure group.

  10. Mikey R says:

Also, isn’t boycotting matches counter productive? We as a football club have no money, we have a board that has no money (that they either do not have or choose not to invest), yet the one rallying cry that is constant at the moment is to not put money in to the club (to keep it going)? You would rather that the club starts to crumble even further and becomes even more unattractive to new owners, rather than help the club to keep going and achieve new owners?

  11. Barry says:

Mikey R – the only constant negativity is being delivered by the club and the board. We’ve taken in £30m in transfer fees in the last 18 months. We’ve spent £500k of that. Absolutely pitiful. Gates are down because thousands of fans are disgruntled with the way things are. This season we have achieved our lowest attendances for over 10 years. What do Earl, Woods and Carter do for the club? Where is the direction, the plan? Yes they plan to sell, but in the meantime, they can’t just do nothing – and yet that is exactly what they are doing. They effectively letting the club slowly decline. The Blue Union have exposed the lies of the club, have shed light on the shoddy practices of an out of his depth Kenwright, have exposed the embarrassing behaviour of Ian Ross leading up to his departure. They are fans who care, who care enough to no longer just ‘support the team’ like mindless sheep like many have done for the last 3 years during our steady decline. The only split in the fanbase is caused by people who try to defend the indefensible board.

  12. pablo says:

Mickey R: Is that you Bob?

  13. Ryan says:

    Mikey R

I respect your views and you have the right to do so as you please.

Me, I will not put a FURTHER penny into Everton football club whilst William Kenwright is still the chairman of Everton Football Club.

That is my right and I will exercise my right to do so.

I think Everton Football Club are in for a very hard shock when it comes to season ticket renewal times this season.

It’s William Kenwright and his board of directors who have failed to invest a SINGLE PENNY into Everton Football Club in over 10 years who in my opinion who are taking Everton Football Club onto a very slippery path.

  14. Barry says:

If the club crumbles, it is the fault of the board, not the fans. Mikey R, what are YOUR suggestions on how Everton can be improved? What should we as fans do? You’re very quick to criticise. But what are your own ideas? Do nothing? Let us meander through another transfer window? No buyers on the horizon, gates down, no striker, team old and playing badly. ‘Getting behind the team’ is such a twee, face palm inducing rallying cry. Many of us have been ‘getting behind the team for the last 25 years and where has that got us? It’s time to force change at the top, there’s zero reason why the Stokes of this world should be on a better business footing than us, the 4th most successful club in English football.

  15. labonelabonelabone says:

In answer to your last question Mikey, no, don’t be silly. The club will continue to become less attractive to new owners with each passing day whether or not a ‘hundreds’ of BU supporters boycott.
The majority of current stay away fans, and I know a few, refuse to pay £30/40 to watch ‘the worst quality of football’ (their words, not mine even though I agree) in the league, while Moyes earns £65,000 a week.
A few hundred supporters going to matches would be better for the club yes, but only a tiny scale, and certainly wouldn’t be noticeable. And long term, wouldn’t resolve any of the issues surrounding the futre of the club.
Do you think Everton could be self sufficient to quote Robert Elstone?
I like a lot of Evertonians for years under Moyes didn’t pay attention behind the scenes, until the Kirkby fiasco.
I mean why would we? We only buy when we sell, we haven’t got a new stadium, we have very good average attendances, and our wage bill is mid table…we are financially sound. Turns out we are not, and those responsible should be ashamed. If I were to perform to their level in my job, I would be dismissed.

  16. labonelabonelabone says:

As the abuse, I have been ‘offered out’ and called every name under the sun for supprting the BU and saying that I think Moyes time is up. The abuse is completely both ways, and in my opinion is more in the BU direction than vice versa.

  17. H Blue says:

Margie – Cliched nonesense like “if you’re not part of the solution you’re part of the problem” gets us nowhere. Firstly it assumes the BU have an ultimate solution, which I’m sure not even their most ardent supporter would currently claim. Secondly even if they did claim that, it is by no means certain that their “solution” is the best or only one. Mickey R is quite correct in saying the BU haven’t as yet anything more than a small minority support. Like him I’m not happy with the status quo, the need for change is obvious, but that doesn’t mean because a protest group exists that they have the answers – as yet they don’t as I see it. Gary your comment that supporters who don’t agree with the BU need “educating” is arrogant nonesense, they just have different views to you mate. “Educating” people who don’t agree with you is what dictatorships do, not organisations claiming to representative. People just as intelligent as you have different views.

None of the above is intended to decry the motives of the very genuine people leading BU, but those of us who remain to be convinced by their tactics, or the negative vibes they are creating around the club, are not morons.

  18. Garry says:

So mate, what do you not agree with about the BU ? with wanting change why dont you come the meeting and express your views ? The lads wont lynch you, its all about ideas and trying whats best to move Everton forward.

  19. Jon says:

This is a fantastic initiative by a group that is clearly evolving as all groups do according to the Tuckman theory. I clearly remember KEIOC going through the same process and look at them now – lauded by politicians, the council and as I understand it the club itself, after the remarkable work being conducted over the football quarter. Only an absolute moron would criticise those guys and it’s easy to understand that the same will be said of the Blue Union sometime in the future. Tremendous foresight to announce the day of action well in advance – well done.

  20. John D says:

I think every Evertonian wants the same as BU. I personally don’t get what handing out leaflets and protests will achieve ? BK has been on national telly saying he wants to sell up ! Bottom line is we need a billionaire buyer !

  21. H Blue says:

Exactly Gary, you hit the nail on the head, it’s all about ideas. So if it’s only at the ideas stage you can’t claim to have a solution to “educate” people with.

What worries me about the BU is that it’s all about getting rid of the current regime and has no viable plan that I’ve heard for replacing them. Just suppose BK gets fed up of the constant criticism and walks out, drops his price (assuming there is a current asking price)then who comes next? Another shower of bumbling amateurs like the Venkys at Blackburn?

After years in a management role, one thing I know for sure is that the easiest thing in the world is to say things are going wrong, anyone can do that, the hard part is coming up with a strategy to set things right. Marching around shouting “out with the old” is no solution unless you know what to bring in as the new.

  22. Ronnie says:

I think a lot of these comments boil down to your philosophy: Is any action better than no action? (see the number of posts saying to Mike R “Well what would you do?”). Personally I don’t believe any action is always better than no action.

  23. Keith says:

At last the Blue Union are showing signs of maturity and of being leaders rather than being led. Knee jerk protesting will only damage the perception that it’s a growing movement, here for the long-term. City would see a small turnout due to work commitments most probably and only give credence to their detractors. There’s a certain amount of psychology being exerted in giving the club six weeks notice, it will drive them to distraction thinking what the Blue Union are up to. Having been neutral I now believe they’re beginning to act with a certain style, with a purpose of thought and not as simply a conduit for thoughtless behavior which always leads to where Everton are heading – oblivion. It must now be dawning on the club’s management that they finally have a fight on their hands. Well done BU.

  24. Gav says:

Sir John Moores would be rolling in his grave if he could see Everton now and that should be enough for everyone to support the Blue Union. I was watching Everton in the 70′s and 80′s and while the 70′s were tough we believed in the people running our club because they refused to accept anything less than the best. More than I can say for the current bunch.

  25. johnefc says:

Well Done lads , Its Good to know we have blues that care about the Future of the club

  26. kevin says:

I keep hearing from the anti BU crowd that they don’t have a solution? I think they have made their plan very clear,an interim board of proffesionals installed with the express purpose of finding the proper and right buyers/owners, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that Bill Kenwright has not done a very good job at that!

  27. David says:

Its because of the likes of Mickey R I wont be back at Goodison, your apathy to our situation is as bad as the boards mis-management. BU have my full support, shame you lads have to put up with the most apathetic support in the country.

  28. pablo says:

John D: We don’t need a billionaire we need someone with a plan something the current board don’t have and never have had; they have been winging it thinking a billionaire was going to buy us out.

Coming out with the shite like you wrote above tells me you’re either a “friendly supporter”, on sun tan bob’s payroll or just plain stupid…. I’ll go for the latter.

  29. ArryArse says:

Don’t ya just love it when some arse continually pipes up about ‘representing the majority’ of fans

Richard Nixon claimed he had the support of the ‘silent majority’ over Vietnam – we all know he didn’t and look what happened to him.

    Fuck kenwright and moyes.

  30. Billy B says:

Keep up the pressure BU and dont let a few good results get in the way of your plans. When will some supporters wake up and smell the coffee, the club is dying before are own eyes.

  31. Chris says:

Although in a small way I understand where you are coming from in terms of frustration at the lack of growth, I personally think the BU are nothing more than a very, very minor minority that in no way reflects the feelings of the fans. The fact that you think our club is being poorly run really does annoy me, do any of you know anything about running a football club?? I’m guessing not, the club is still here because we are spending and investing wisely, what would you rather see? Us getting into more debt to bring in players we simply can’t afford? No offense but your proposals for the coming year are laughable, you don’t represent anywhere near what the vast majority of the fans do so why don’t you put all your support behind your team instead of against it?

  32. efcjohn says:

end of the day not enough people are bothered about the future of the club itself , they just go the match eat a pie or hot dog and thats as deep as it goes for most unfortunatley
