Cahill flattered by Al Nasr interest

Everton midfielder Tim Cahill has heightened speculation regarding a possible move to United Arab Emirates club Al Nasr by talking of his strong connection to the Middle East.

Cahill still has two years left on his lucrative contract with Everton but has been linked with a reported £4 million deal for one season at the cashed-up club where compatriot Mark Bresciano’s contract has another year to run.

“All these sort of elements of speculation will be dealt with after camp,” Cahill said before Australia’s World Cup qualifier against Oman in Muscat this Friday.

“It is always a compliment. I am a massive fan of the Middle East, the cultures, the people.

“I have travelled a lot and I respect them a lot. For me, it is just to focus on the Socceroos and we will see what happens later. I know what the experience is like, I have lived and breathed it.

“I have played in two Asia Cups and I have got great connections with a lot of important people overseas.
