City prepare £25m Arteta swoop?
The Sunday Mirror are reporting that Roberto Mancini is on the cusp of bidding £25m for Everton’s midfield matador Mikel Arteta.
City have already spent close to £70million this summer with the signatures of Jerome Boateng, Yaya Toure and David Silva. And now they seem set to commence battle once more with Everton this summer for one of Goodison’s most loved stars.
While the annual – and embarrassing - search for funds under the Goodison carpets continues, is there any way Everton could realistically turn down a fee of such magnitude if City do continue to pursue Mikel Arteta?

We have to accept that kind of money, like City or not. We can and will replace him with someone who’ll eventually prove as good for a fifth of the price, and given his service we shouldn’t stop him from moving to a club with a better chance of winning things.

If Mikel decides to move on i hope he goes to a big club like United or Arsenal and not a joke club like that lot City with no history and a council-owned stadium.

City were the first club to bring a major trophy back to the North West and also the a club that won a eurepean trophy before both Mersyside clubs.

I hope City will always have a council owned stadium in Manchester benifiting the people of Manchester.

Every club in the league has “history” some good some bad.
What you and a lot of so called fans get conufused about is the difference between History and success.
History is something that happens since the club was formed and just to clarify City can trace there roots back to c 1876.
Success is the honours you win from that date
Its impossible to have no “History”

Ade was outstanding before the ACoN shite after it although came back with a few goals towards the end.
Why would players come – well 3 already have this transfer window all decent players with more to come – last season the team you have just slated ammassed more points in the EPL than Everton have ever ammassed in a season – in three transfer windows we have caught up to the mighty Everton (from a good way behind)

What the fuck does how good/bad the city of Liverpool or Manchester have to do with football??? Born and bred in Liverpool, had many a great time in Manchester – both cities have history & culture. As many Mancunians love The Beatles as Scousers love Oasis/Joy Division.Still don’t see what any of that has to do with footy or players moving to one club or the other.

Why would our owners walk away when they have invested shed loads of money into the club I think you’ll find the plans for City go way beyond just football they are investing huge amounts into the areas round the ground which include building a huge training complex close to our stadium (sorry the councils stadium)
What I would be more concerned about for an Everton point of view is the new financial regulations by FIFa which means that Liverpool will always be allowed to spend more money then you.
