Drenthe: I will give everything for Everton

Royston Drenthe has promised to give everything for the Everton cause and insists he’s pleased to have signed – initially on loan until the end of the season – for the Blues.

The Dutch winger, 24, signed with minutes of the deadline to spare from Real Madrid and will wear the vacated Mikel Arteta’s number 10 jersey.

“It’s a nice number, and I have to show the people I can wear it,’ Drenthe said.

“I have to train hard to do my best and give everything I have in my body for Everton because this is my club and here I have to do it.

“I’ve waited for my chance, I’ve been waiting for a club like Everton to come for me. It was on the last day but I’m feeling very happy, all my family is happy and I think I can do a good job here at Everton. I’m glad to be here.”
