Fernandes opens door for Everton return

Manuel Fernandes would welcome a return to Everton, according to reports emanating from the Portuguese press.

The 26-year-old is available on a free transfer after a contract dispute with his club Besiktas. Fernandes has already had two stints at Goodison Park in 2007 and 2008.

Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers have been credited with an interest in the English press but his agent hinted his client would prefer a move to Merseyside.

Mendes told O Jogo: ‘There is some interest (from England) but he has made no decision yet. Manuel loved his time with Everton and would welcome the chance to return if the proposal was right.’

Over to you, Mr Kenwright.

    No brainer, sign him up!

  2. Barry says:

He was absolutely rubbish in his second spell at the club, then lied to everyone by telling them he’d sign for us. No chance Moyes will have him back a 3rd time, nothing to do with Kenwright.

  3. Evertonian says:

GET HIM IN MOYESY, BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE ON A FREE TRANSFER HE HAS TO COME.

  4. bernard mackinshaw says:

Get him now Moyes!! Dont let him pass us by again, we can then get rid of Rodwell and Cahill and bring in Pienaar too. Do it!!!!

Yesterday’s man – leave well alone!

  6. Paco says:

26, is that all he is, he must have been 12 when he first played for us.

  7. Freeman1878 says:

He’s just had a great season in Turkey, I would sign him all day just depends on his wage demands.

  8. Niall says:

Why does every say he lied to us? He wanted to sign for us but Valencia offered more money so he had no choice in the matter. He is a good player but that quote seems that he was open to a return to England not specifically Everton. I expect to see him at QPR not us.

  9. Mark says:

Barry, he didn’t lie to us about joining, that is well documented.

Also, this happened at the end of his first spell with us. If EFC were so angry, why loan him again?

  12. Martin says:

Sign him up, NOW! Will add some flair to our midfield and has a huge engine. Would be made up if we got him.
