Gosling walks out on Blues – reports

Newspaper reports are today suggesting that the FA has ruled against Everton in the Dan Gosling contract dispute and the player has decided to enforce his right to freedom of movement at the end of his current deal and has walked out on the Blues.

The Daily Mirror correspondent Alan Nixon reports that, despite Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright making various ‘verbal’ offers and promises to the player, a rookie oversight in failing to put anything to the player or his representatives in writing has seen the club lose out on several million pounds worth of transferable asset.

With the player having cost in the region of £1.5m from Plymouth Argyle initially, and recent reports suggesting much interest in his services, it is not unreasonable to suggest that this typically Everton gaffe has cost the club in the region of £5m.

At a time when the manager is desperate for every penny he can get, questions must surely once again be asked as to the competence of the senior management of the business side of Everton FC.

The reliable redtop goes on to suggest that Newcastle and Sunderland are ready to fight it out for the players signature.

Quite why Dan is so eager to get away is anyone’s guess. One thing is for sure though, this reflects very badly indeed on Everton FC.

“Quite why Dan is so eager to get away is anyone’s guess.”

Are you serious? He was playing for Everton, the first chance you get to leave Everton, you swipe it before that chance is gone! Hes a decent player so he wants to play for a bigger club with better grounds and more fans like Newcastle or Sunderland. No-brainer really.

  2. andy baker says:

    hahahahahahaha, typical deluded gobshite.

deary me, if Dan has decided to play the field as a free agent then good luck to him.

I think it fair to say that nowadays Everton is the best club to be at for young talented players and if he would like to join newcastle or sunderland rather than wait for our contract offer then he is as much of a clown as ‘trader’

  3. Colonel Bogey says:

Typical fuck up by our brilliant board. There’s always something with these idiots. Give us a clue Trader? What massive and successful club do you follow?

  4. PaulM says:

Dan Gosling – my hero! The bitters, laughing stocks once more. And you play in pink – you lot are priceless!!!!!!

  5. NUFCELITE says:

Why would he want to play for a tiny club like everton when newcastle are interested, everton arnt even the biggest club in your city.At least trader has the sense to know that unlike you andy pandy.

  6. Bobby says:

The craziest thing is that he’s not even that good but still managed a goal against the redshite.

  7. Blueman says:

NUFCLite – Were not the biggest club in our city becasue the biggest club in Liverpool are the most succesful team in the country – which means they would piss on your lot – unlike Newcastle, Liverpools big enough to hold 2 teams that have both been more succesful that your shower of shite

& if Newcastle were so much of a BIG club – you wouldnt be after Evertons reserves as a major transfor coup

  8. willsy says:

Unless he’s off to a ‘top 2′ club, any step away from a club of Everton’s history and magnitude is a step down. Newcastle will be the proverbial yo-yo club for the next 5 years just like West Brom. If your going Dannyboy, thanks for the important goals you scored and good luck in recovering from your cruciate

  9. EFC Luke says:

Cant see this being true, hes injured so would be taking a big risk on any club gambling on him & was at finch farm working on his fitness with Alan Stubbs the other day when my brother was playing their….if he was planning on leaving i dowt Moyes would have left one of our coaches behind to work with him..

  10. EFC Luke says:

& one more thing…why would the court rule at 5 in the morning that he could leave? i’m guessing there monre of a 9-5 place?…& why would the FA release the story at 5 in the mornin? (again i dowt there still up at this time) – but not publish it on there website – just bell the Mirror & the mail (who have a track record for chatting shite)

  11. Paul D says:

I’ll believe it when it comes from a source with a decent reputation for reporting the truth (BBC, Sky Sports). Until then I’ll rest assured that his contract still has a year on it as it says on this website
    http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/everton-fc/everton-fc-news/2009/05/27/everton-fc-latest-dan-gosling-agrees-two-year-contract-extension-92534-23720862/
And to all the Newcastle fans commenting – Well done on getting back into our league you massive, massive club. You and your cockney chairman can keep chasing our injured reserves in your struggle to remain up here with us… MASSIVE!!!

  12. Frank Smith says:

Be interestintg to see how it all pans out, at the end of the day you’ve got to wonder why Gosling ever ‘discovered’ the issue with the contract, are his agents pushing for a move or was he pushing for a move?

Bit of a bad attitude from me but if he leaves I hope he doesn’t recover from his injury properly, if he stays I hope he has a great future.

Great fuck up by the club though… You’d think since we’re so renowned for bringing on the youngsters in this modern day that we’d have this sort of thing sorted ages ago.

  13. andy baker says:

always makes me laugh when RS gobshites call us bitters but feel the need to read everton news and comment on everton forums…but were the bitter and obsessed ones!?!

why dont you just fuck off back to your armchair Paul M you silly poolie twat haha!

NUFC are seriously comical. Enjoy your season in the prem you mugs…

  14. Andy A says:

Is it just me or would anyone else actually not be arsed if he left? fair does it was a massive cock up but my instant reaction when me mate told me was “so?”..lets face it, the lad is never gonna get in our first team, none of the teams above us would look twice at him so where’s he gonna go? become relegation fodder with the barcodes or go to Sunderland? if he wants to walk out, let him..no player is bigger than the club, certainly not fucking Dan Gosling!!

and NUFC elite your lucky enough to be one of the cities that you dont need to share with hypocritical gobshites who come on to Everton websites to talk shit instead of worrying about their own club

  15. Paddy B says:

It astonishes me how a farce of a club like Newcastle United can be promoted back to the Premier League after a year in the Championship and then even begin to mock established clubs such as Everton. You guys certainly have an over-inflateds opinion of yourselves and have next to no knowledge of football history and tradition. If you did, you would realise that Everton are the fourth most successful club in England, and Newcastle are no where to be seen.
It is indeed the case that Everton are less successful than the other club in our city, Liverpool, who are by the way the most successful club in England.Newcastle is a one club city and the only competition you have is from small clubs located on industrial wastelands, such as Boro and Sunderland.(Incidently, Sunderland are at the minute a greater club than you lot)
The first commment from “tracker” where he argues that the size of club is dictated by capacity and size of stadium is ridiculous. By your reckoning, that would make both Newcastle and Sunderland bigger than Liverpool and Everton. If you compare history, tradition and recent league placings then it is patently obvious that Everton are a bigger club than anything the North-East can muster.
I find all these delusional comments hard to take, as I desperately want to like Newcastle. I have family and friends in the area and the place feels like a second home to me but you lot have to start being serious. Many of your fans believe, having spoke to them, that Newcastle is “the biggest club in the world.” Guys it is time to face facts, you’re not. Every player in Everton’s starting line up would walk into Newcastle’s team, and many more from our second string would also start you. The history of Everton is far greater and relative success in an are of footballing inadequacy, such as the North-East does not denote greateness. Thankyou in advance for the six points we will receive this season, and good luck in your relegation battle. I and many others in this city and this country would find it hilarious if you got relegated again, so don’t disappoint!

As for the redshites calling us bitter, fuck off. Reading Everton supporters websites and forums is distinctly odd. Who are the bitter ones?

  16. Paul Daly says:

I’m glad the Barcodes are back in the Prem. We can now return to singing one of my favourites towards their fans…

“FUCK ALL, YOU’VE NEVER WON FUCK ALL…”

    Geordie cunts.

  17. Asho says:

    PaulD

Reading that link – Goslings contract runs out end 2009 / 2010 season i.e. 30 June 2010. Even in that article he had not signed the extension. Mind you, there is no word yetfrom Gosling and we all know how reliable the Mirror is !!

If he goes, he goes – just means we loose deel on fees.

  18. Because of a cock-up by Kenwright and his cronies its cost our cash strapped club a potential £4m.

And he wonders why we call him ‘Bungling Bill’.

  19. andy says:

Who’s really that bothered. Yes were losing the money but he’s hardly a Rodwell, Rooney or a even a Hibert.

Slow to the ball, one footed and can’t tackle so he will suit those backward scuffs who are that big they are now reliant on free reserve players. Wow what a massive club they are. That big you couldn’t even keep hold of Steve Watson.

Look forward to watching them wrecking another footballers career ie Dyer, Shearer, Bellamy …. the list is endless and lets not even get onto how you treated Sir Bobby Robson (RIP).

  20. Jethro says:

Agree with the above comment that he’s no Rooney or Rodwell, and I cannot see that he ever would have been good enough to become a regular first-teamer. But to lose him for nothing when the club scrounges for every penny. I’m bothered.

As for why he wants to leave. I don’t understand it either. Newcastle, Sunderland, West Ham. They’re all nothing clubs compared to Everton.

  21. Paulm696 says:

HAHAHA!!!!!! Priceless!!!!! Getting stick of the Skunks up in won-fuck all-land!!!! You couldn’t survive last time an you had a better team, still it’ll be a good laugh for everyone else you replica top wearin vermin!!! Dont you have any clothes shops up there you fuckin meffs!!!

  22. red la says:

    haha fuckin class!
Everton making out there the big uns lol. 9 cups and a wooden ground and there the envy of the world haha.
Face it lads your a feeder club with a little bit of history and an owner with the business sense and clout of a bald monkey with a glass eye, hair lip and a bald head.
Did you leave neville to handle that piece of business??
How the fuck you got the cheek to label other clubs about being massive goes beyond belief.
No wonder gosling left your poor club haha.
Newcastle are so much bigger than you shower of shite. History is history but a 1st division ground with 35,000 fans dont make you massive., and thats why you dont attract big players and why you are a feeder club at best..
Probably why martin petrov opted for bolton.,
Fuckin history? Mk dons have history, and a better ground haha. Fuckoff toffees and get a grip

  23. red la says:

the best way to tell how big a club is, is to go abroad and see whos shirts there selling.
Ive been to 7 countrys in 3 years. Last one was USA New York and the only shirts i could see was Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man C plus the odd Tottenham, West Ham, Portsmouth and Newcastle. I did see 1 Everton shirt but it was on a tourist. (sound guy tho).
    Massive my ass haha

  24. Scouse4ever. says:

    red la.

Everton have won more trophys than Newcastle so how can they be bigger?

Yor seem to want to go on crowds. Well the Geordies have a biiger stadium than LFC and have a higher average attendance so going on that you must feel Newcastle are bigger than your club.

Put your foot in it now haven’t you??

Ps did you go into town for LFC’s hilarious ‘independance day’??? HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

    Long live George and Tom!

  25. EFCs says:

Liverpool will be a feeder club when Torres and Gerrard jump off the sinking ship!

  26. Paul D says:

    Red la

  27. Paulm696 says:

Showed how good you shite are when the ash cloud closed all the airports, 35000 against west ham, its a good job the M6 was still open or Analfield would have been as empty as your head!!!!!

  28. Blue Blue Blue says:

Now now boys, it’s not Red La’s fault he opted for the easy path, obviosly his father and grand father were week minded fools too…

Gosling, gone!!!! WTF will we do now??? Who else will we bring on with 10 mins to go???

See ya Danny, thanks for 1 great goal.

  29. Paddy B says:

There you go mouthing off without doing your homework (a bit like kenwright)
And before you start guessing and breaking your woolie brains to pieces im a United fan.
Haha your the most deluded fans ever if you think your massive. I bet your now gonna give me the old history lesson on how your massive and that your players will die for the shirt.
Hows the 60,000 seater state of the art scrapyard errm i mean stadium coming on?
Or are you just gonna give your old 1 a lick of paint?
Chin up tho lads, you’ve still got rodwell for another year.

  31. red la.

Don’t blag us your a United fan as they wouldn’t come out with the scouse word ‘la’ or need to use the word ‘woolie’ you Kopite gobshite!

I hate liverpool as much as you and scousers period.
I feel sick you’ve labelled me a scouser. SICK!

  33. Paulm696 says:

@ Red La. Ok then sein as your a united fan, what i doubt but here goes. Your 1 BILLION in the hole an fergie is fast aproaching the knackers yard. The Glazers are milkin you wankers for everythin and wont sell an your team is getting old. ENJOY you GOBSHITE!!!!!

  34. EXPRESSMONKEYS says:

NUFCELITE where are you??? 11 even arg and blackbird looking for you now

  35. Loz says:

The reason why Dan Gosling left is simple.
He knew he was not going to figure in the team this season.
There are at least 8 midfielders at the club who are above him in the pecking order
Also I believe Everton FC are not as upset about him leaving as people seem to think.
