Holloway concedes Coleman defeat
Ian Holloway has reluctantly accepted that Everton’s marauding Irish right-back Seamus Coleman will not be returning to Bloomfield Road this season.
Coleman enjoyed a fine loan spell at Blackpool last term which culminated in the Tangerines amazingly clinching promotion to the promised land of the Premier League after a 3-2 play-off final win over Cardiff City.
Holloway has struggled to attract names to the club but had hoped Coleman would be allowed to return on another loan deal. Granted Seamus will be pushing hard for a starting berth come the season start in less than two weeks for Everton, that hope appears to have diminished for the former Plymouth boss.
He said: “I think I’ve got two hopes – one of them is Bob, the other is no.
“He is playing so well that David Moyes won’t want to let him go.I’ve asked him, I’ve left messages, I’ve spoken to Moyesy’s brother (agent Kenny, with whom the Charlie Adam deal was done last year), so I’m trying all I can. However, I think the honest answer is probably no.”

If Hibbert starts ahead of him against Blackburn I think I’ll develop a twitch.
hibbert will start…either him or neville but tbh, if neville is going to play – and as long as he is fit and has an hole in his arse he will do – id rather Phil played RB to free his place up in midfield for the likes of rodwell, fellaini and co.
People say coleman is too young and cant defend properley yet…hibbert wasnt exactly showing him how its done when that throw in sailed over his head against norwich though was he…
Coleman may not be the best defender yet but he offers too much going forward to be ignored for much longer.
