Kenwright talking to three potential buyers

Less than forty-eight hours before The Blue Union stage a peaceful protest march against the stagnation of the club, ESPN Soccernet have conveniently revealed that Bill Kenwright is in talks with three interested parties.

The three supposed interested parties come from the Far East (one from China) and Europe.

A close friend of Kenwright’s told ESPNsoccernet:

‘It is laughable that some fans are demanding that someone comes in to sell the club when Bill is trying so hard to bring in fresh investment.

‘Let me tell you there is no better salesman, no-one better equipped to sing the praises of Everton and to sell the club.’

SOS1878 can exclusively reveal that as a result of this new information, The Blue Union are considering disbanding completely.

You’ve gotta bleedin’ larf ain’t yer???

    The three parties are:
    1. The Chinese Women’s Dance Party
    2. The European Basket Weavers Association
    3. The Far(sighted)Eastern Professional Telly Menders Party

Bill is trying so hard to bring in fresh investment …. blah blah blah …. he couldn’t bring in fresh lettuce

  2. Grab a Grand says:

Three days before a protest? I cannot link these two stories at all.

    Nice try Ross.

  3. Brian says:

They are like buses these football club buyers. You wait 10 years for one and then 3 come along at once.

  4. Sack the Juggler says:

look lads – pack you bags, your hate and your bile and jog on eh, I’d trust Bill to sell the club more than I would the Blue Union

  5. Ed Balls says:

    Well

this will please the die-hards, the braindead and the sycophants.

the rest of us will just smile and say that we’ve seen all of this before.

the real question here is – does Bill think that the fans of Everton FC are stupid? – because this news and the way it has ‘come out’ signifies to me that Kenwright doesn’t give a toss about the fans and doesn’t give a toss about the Club. His only interest is in preserving/ maximising any profit he may have from the sale of the Club. His continued abuse of the fan base by re-iterating lies highlights he doesn’t give a shit. he is a self-centred simpleton and should go NOW

  6. nelleyverd says:

Sure he is…..does this man think we are a bunch of cretins ??

It’s been 10yrs with NO buyers then all of a sudden there are now THREE just days before the biggest protest against him and his fellow board of cronies….YEAH RIGHT !!

  7. glen whelan says:

How weird? I do not believe BK has been previously looking too hard to sell. I can imagine he has been playing lip service though. Probably whenever a prospect came along BK accidentally lost their numbers or simply ignored them. Bit now he has no hiding place, and I suspect that he is realistic in that his chairmanship should come to an end, so for me these buyers are most likely real. The only change is that he is no longer obstructing the sale, not forgetting that pretty much every news channel has aired the plight of Everton’s finances, so could also be completely feasible that new buyers are aware of our potential.

beleive it when i see it

  9. Andy Mac says:

“SOS1878 can exclusively reveal that as a result of this new information, The Blue Union are considering disbanding completely.” ??? Best thing posted on this site for months. However, I completely agree that the “leaking” of the “talking to 3 potential buyers” story is obviously an attempt to attract the newshounds’ headline makers away from the equally duplicitous spin of SOS and Blue Union. That’s what happens when battle lines are drawn up. By the way, hats off to BU for releasing to the press the statement that the protest on Saturday is not directed against Kenwright personally. So, if I witness on Saturday orchestrated chants of “What do we want? Kenwright OUT. when do we want it? NOW” “Sack the Board” etc etc and such like moronic chants, will the “leaders” of BU admit that their press release was nothing but “LIES” and “SPIN”?

  10. Billy B says:

Is this yet another well timed smoke screen or have The blue union forced Kenwright to finally get off his arse, keep up the good work boys & girls we will get there in the end boys & girls.

  11. Simon Y says:

Let’s not call off the march so fast. Who knows if any of those would come to fruition. We should continue the protest. There have been clubs that have been less accomplished and attractive as Everton got bids from buyers. Something has to be wrong with current Everton’s vetting process and demand from the current management.

  12. steve says:

I can’t believe Everton FC are even bothering with the Blue Union. Any union of retards, cretins and morons will never disband as they’ll just go onto the new target and continue to make our club a laughing stock.

  13. Ed Balls says:

I would like to ask all those abusive people who support Kenwright and despise other Everton fans – what are you afraid of?

  14. Bazzerk says:

If they are lying then all they are doing is digging themselves a deeper hole.

  15. Kevo says:

Has anyone been to St Marys, Boro, Sunderland, Pride Park, Walkers, Reading etc etc. Mediocre teams, decent stadia and facilities. Now think Goodison, would you be banging BKs door down to buy for anything other than a pack of chocolate buttons? We missed the boat guys.

  16. Steven says:

Are these the same 3 interested parties BBC North West tonight told us about when season ticket payments were due in April?

  17. Jimmy blue eyes says:

More media spni from EFC. More inconsistencies from Elstone too… “the club has been for sale for the last three years…”. When will these total muppets present a co-ordinated set of facts!!!

  18. Dave says:

I wondered what Rod, Jane and Freddie were up to…

  19. Ger says:

I believe the club is for sale. I don’t believe there are 3 buyers BK is talking to at the moment. I don’t believe the banks forced the sale of the players. I think it is being forced by the major shareholders. 2 reasons being they looked at what happened with the RS and were afraid the banks may force them to sell if the club debt got to much and they would lose their investment like hicks and gillet did at the RS. 2nd reason is that by reducing the debt at the club with the sale of all the players since Jan of approx 20m and the sale of bellefield for approx 8m the club will only have debt of approx 20m giving the club a greater sale price and more money for the shareholders if they find a buyer.

Here we go again, come on Bill we been down this road before
we know it is not true ,watch this space m8

  21. Bluebull says:

Could Bill be ready to Stage another ” Comedy of Errors”

  22. Margaret Thatcher again says:

As I’ve said on other pages: The bitching amongst TRUE Everton fans has to stop or EFC WILL go the same way as Rushden & Diamonds.
Who gives a toss about “their voice” being heard in the petty name calling (“I scored more points than so-and-so”) if in the mean time EFC goes out of existence? Is that what you want?
“Gettin’ behind the lads on a Saturday… the BU in bed school in the morning.” Come on Richie, BE CONSTRUCTIVE! EFC is dying here! If you do not agree with/do not want a protest on the weekend – what DO you want/suggest? How do you suggest the ordinary fans – as a unit – force BK’s hand? Look at the Solidarity model in Poland 30 years ago: They were shipyard workers who toppled a government (which in turn toppled Eastern bloc Communism) – IT IS POSSIBLE – but you have to stick together. BK & cronies are BANKING on the fans arguing amongst themselves. Do not give him what he wants!

  23. ArryArse says:

It’s getting to the point where fans will have to decide whether going to the match is equivalent to keeping Bill and Co in place. A massive drop in attendances will be the only real weapon fans for change have. Bill, in his stupidity and quest for power, is driving people away …. and that includes buyers

  24. Lee,Huyton says:

We all know this is bullshit but to raise hopes for fans desperate to see some much needed cash to come into this club is downright insulting and disgusting.

We normally get takeover stories conveiniantly timed for when it’s season ticket renewal time.

Fuck off Ross,Elstone and Kenwright. You are all simply joke figures.

  25. Ian Portch says:

BK is now under massive pressure to sell so I think he will start pushing it more. But come on the team needs surport tomorrow..

  26. Adrian Stanley says:

Dangerous talk about selling to whoever promises big money to remove stagnation from the club. Look at the figures – Everton is not currently in a stable financial position. (http://www.football-finances.org.uk/everton/profits2.htm). Sure, if there’s a rich true blue out there who wants to become a much poorer true blue then I’d welcome them…. I suspect most potential buyers will be looking at burdening us with more debt and forcing this great club out of business.
I suspect that forcing this club out of business is the only outcome that will result from these letters to get rid of Kenwright / protests. Be careful what you wish for!

  27. staveros says:

Adrian, be serious will you. “If there’s a rich true blue out there” you say. So that’s it is it, if the new owner isn’t a dyed-in-the-wool Evertonian, then he is guaranteed to take us to the wall.

    Come on man.

  28. Jimmy Corkhill says:

Propaganda, bullshit maybe but we have to remember that an investor wont just invest in the soul of Everton, they want a return on investment (Build club up and its worth)

Unless we attract a Billionaire that wants a new toy, investment on the scale we are hoping aint happening

I do feel there is some good in the Blue Union to act as a catalyst (firework up BKs backside) Though it will be the same story, I cant flog a business that is in Millions of debt with no assets (Team doesnt count) the need to build a new stadium and poor revenue streams

Maybe one point as well, is BK holding out for the money he wants. Surely in the real business world, Everton would be sold for £1 with the liability of the debts

  29. blu3n0s3 says:

There may well be 3 interested parties (personally I don’t believe it) but I don’t for one minute think the current management team are capable of effectively selling our club to the right people for the right price.

One bed Manchester buyers apart look at the cash we got for Rooney, Arteta and Pienaar.

We don’t seem capable of marketing ourselves effectively and generating additional revenues.

Its not about Kenwright out – its about getting some serious big hitters in to SELL this club before it drops from the Premier League and really loses its chance to progress.

One question – if Bill is such a big Evertonian (I believe he is) then would he sell his shares at a loss? a bit more than £1 but at a LOSS?

  30. Phill says:

Make a note of all these BU guys on here and you watch out for the same names posting on here in 3 years time when this new board comes in and takes the club into administration!! “You sold us out Kenwright – why did do a quick sale to them lot its your fault” Exactly what the redshi&e did to Moores – I thought we were better but you havent a clue.

  31. Paul says:

favourite bid by everton is bedsit.com

  32. kevertonian says:

Erm, before you all pack your lunchbags ready for the big protest march around Goodison, a la Chairman Mao, how many of you have been to your bank manager to ask HIM to lend YOU the money to buy Everton yerselves? Talk about hippocrates!!! Go and re-mortgage your houses, take out a loan, whatever it takes, and give the money to Barclays to pay off the debt. If there’s any left give it to Moyesey to bring in Messi, Kaka, Iniesta – and if there is any left see if Eusebio’s still got his boots – that’ll solve the striker problem!!! Sacking WK is a bit like sacking the Captain of the Titanic just before the collision, the iceberg (ie large debt/no income) will still be there when this skipper has left the ship’s bridge!!!(ie we are skint)!!!

  33. andy mac says:

This is a copy of a mesage that I have posted on other threads within this website. I am not attempting to “Bombard” the discusions with my opinion (AND I AM NOT A KENWRIGHT STOOGE), but I would ask everyone who is considering joining in the march tomorrow to at least give my view the courtecy of a moment’s consideration. “I have previously posted on here stating that I am opposed not to the overall objectives of Blue Union (the taking over of Our Club by Owners who can provide the investment, without loading us with extended unsupportable debt, to move us forward). I just do not trust their (“BU’s”) judgement in deciding that BK and “The Board” are deliberately obstructing that process. AND I object to their assertions that they represent the majority of fans IN THEIR ADOPTED TACTICS. I was originaly so insensed by the prospect of our Club being dragged through the gutter by the Newshounds as a result of the “march” that I was instictively motivated to roundly “BOOO” everyone on said march that came within my sight. Then it struck me. That is wrong. As long as the march is peaceful, and quietly devoid of moronic inflamatory chanting, so as not to degenerate into a cheap (self) publicity stunt, it will still be reported, and make it’s point. THEN, PLEASE, guys, leave the protests outside the ground, and when you get inside, lets make the UNITED atmosphere more intimidating to the opposition, and more inspiring for OUR players than ever. PLEASE don’t bring the protest inside. THEN I may have much more respect for your position, and motives. Thank you.”

  34. dave longy says:

andy mac, well said ,totally agree

  35. dave longy says:

be carefull what you wish for ,i would love to know how many going on the march tomorrow voted for johnson when he took over the club instead of BK ,also although it would be great for a billionare to come and buy the THE BEST CLUB IN THE LAND ,i for one would not like to be going the match every week and watch some ponce picking up a million pound a month plus and not give a shit about our club ,even if our billionare does come along ,i hope we keep a lid on players wages as we do now ,all i want from our billionare is a new stadium and some dosh for davey to play with ,not alot to ask for ,
