Neville and Saha lead the apologies

After last night’s disgraceful defeat to bottom of the table Bolton Wanderers at Goodison Park, Everton captain Phil Neville and misfiring forward Louis Saha have apologised to fans on Twitter.

Attendance dipped to below 30,000 for the first time for a Premier League game at Goodison in over ten years and both players were quick to acknowledge the team’s performance was unacceptable.

Following on from a barrage of criticism, Neville tweeted: ‘I accept all criticism – last night was by far not good enough by the team – we do care and we will put it right.’

Saha added: ‘Critics are spot on. Way too much bad performance from me but I’m confident one good game can turn it around for me.’

We can accomodate a few old players but not 7 who are around the 30 or more mark. Both Louis and Phil look jaded and we need an injection of energy and fight before it’s too late!!

time for Moyes to play kids like Barkley who are desperate to play, have youth, engery and sometimes pace! The likes of Saha, Cahill, Neville and the likes need to start taking a back seat. Also great playing 4-4-2 but why have 2 defenders in central mid when the likes of Billy and Gueye where on the bench. What a joke.

you have not added the fact that phill said he promises. Its simply not good enough appologys dont win games the team doesnt seem to have belife or fight we will be lucky to stay in the prem in the coming seasons.

When you pay your money to watch football the least you expect is to be entertained. It is not all down to the players but down to the negative tactics, team selections from the manager. I am a season ticket holder and am sick of watching the so called untouchable moyes sending out teams that play the worst football in the league. Time for Moyes to F*** Off

Where’s the apology from Moyes for disgraceful team selections and tactical approach? Crab passing and hoofball are not acceptable. And where’s the apology from Kenwright for strangling the club?

I travelled 500 mile round trip to that pile o poo last night. Louis Haha (not Saha)..bet you don’t hand back a week’s wages no matter how sorry you are..you didn’t deserve to be paid 50 pence for that never mind £50k. Phil Neville has given his all @ Everton, but he looks a spent force. Tim Cahill has been an iconic hero, but he too is nearing if not already at the end. Moyesy whom I love needs to trust youth ie Barkley, although Rodwell was injured he should have started the game, he’s a full England International for crying out loud. Tony Hibbert…sorry Moysey no other Prem League Manager is picking players because they’re honest pros, Hibbert again God Bless him is out of his depth time and again, a real blind spot of the manager, doesn’t he remember the FA Cup Final and how poor Hibbert was for all to see. Anichebe scored last time out (probably makes him joint top scorer with Howard!) so why put somebody else up front…good old honest hard working, but short of talent Dennis! Confused you will be…I certainly am. The 200 Bolton fans outshouted us all for the whole game, so we didn’t do our bit either. Tasmworth must be licking their lips!

The usual and predictable aimless crossing as the only tactic was last night abandoned for good old hoof ball.
WTF do our coaching staff do to turn good players into sunday league ones??
Before looking for a striker, lets get staff in who know how to play football.

ray hughes, well put, totally agree ,the club should refund your travel expenses ,or haha and orvill should they were a disgrace ,ime not sure if i do trust moyes any more

Totally agree with the previous comments ,what the coaching staff and team do during the week God knows .We are inept at throw ins ,and have been for the past two seasons. No movement and usually end up losing the ball , no player receiving the ball has a forward thought always sideways and backwards ( you dont need pace to go forward )no vision , no imagination from team and coaching staff and no communication from Keeper to defence to midfield to forwards. All in all a very vvery poor performance from top to bottom.

The thing is these players are no longer good enough for this level,I would add Cahill and Hibbert to that too. The sales of Yakubu and Beckford were a mystery to replace the 2 with loan signing from Argentina who looks especially poor is even more mystifying. Al this is down to Moyes ,I`ve tried to be objective looking at the sum rather the part, but I think his times up. Look how Sunderlands form changed with new management. The whole set up ,team, coaching, tactics is stale and predictable and we deserve better.
