Signs of progress with the Everton Fans Forum?
For the eagle eyed among us who bought a match day programme on Saturday there would have been a nice surprise….Everton are looking for new members for their Fans Forum.
The advert reads: “Everton Football Club is giving passionate Blues the chance to have their say on the main issues affecting their club”.
Mr Elstone follows up by stating: “The Club has made a long-standing commitment to getting closer to its fans and has introduced a series of initiatives that allow us to listen and hold us to account, to respond. The Fans’ Forum is exactly that”.
All sounds very promising until you read the report for the meeting that was held in August: “Topics included away travel support, supporters’ clubs, season ticket and lounge member sales and Goodison Park enhancements”.
Some brave soul did question the progress of the Park End development, but there is little doubt that they were unsatisfied with the response they received.
Graeme Sharp states on his dedicated Fans Forum blog “there is currently a hold-up with two of the companies involved in the project and until that’s resolved the club can’t move forward”‘….hardly an informative response and conveys clearly that there has been zero progress since Evertonians for Change challenged Mr. Elstone at the clubs Fans Conference in April (that’s, let me count, 1,2,3,4 months and still no progress!)
But lets not be cynical! Progress is still progress, no matter how slow, Everton have opened up the Fans Forum for all to apply.
It’s just a shame that the new members will be selected and not elected. It is equally a shame that new members’ feedback won’t be reported in full by an independent chairperson. Finally, it’s a shame that new members won’t actually be allowed to hold the club to account and to challenge the club on the real issues that need to be discussed.
So, do you feel you can contribute to the club we love? Do you feel you have strength of character to challenge Everton on the real issues surrounding the club? Then click on the link below, get your application in and get yourself involved, because Everton don’t need more yes man; they need individuals with the strength and bravery to stand up to be counted.

There really is no point in applying.
All the club want are backslappers who want to know why we don’t play Z-Cars when the players come out for the second half.
Where is the list of names of the people currently sitting on the FF? Where are the minutes from the meetings they attend?
The whole thing is a farce.
Whats the point of a FF if you cant say how you feel?? The moderators will be working overtime to censor any anti-board rhetoric.
A small victory for E4C. Still plenty more work to be done.
You know something; all this “Behind every cloud is a silver lining” is absolute B*** S***. It has been cloudy every day this Summer, never seen a hint of a silver cloud at all and to be honest when I read things like this, it just gets greyer.Do they thinkwe are all fucking idiots ?
As for the FF as discussed, I shall go for it and also post any response I get or any information I get (obviously I better tell them I am going to do that, we dont want a repeat of a recent diabolical act, do we??).
Talk about doom and gloom.
Ah well, 7/8 days left in the transfer window, it can all change – selling Rodwell, Jags, Cahill, Arteta and Fellani would be a step in the right direction, giving DM 50-60% of this to recruit (if that much was needed) – could make us at least stumble through, maybe better – the rest going to the nice bank, would make us walk at least – and more importantly shut the board up and give them NO MORE EXCUSES for the next couple of years.
PS love Jags, Cahill and Arteta – but the time has come for them to move on whilst we can get some money.
PPS Rodwell and Fellani – of course I have called them heros now and again, but in general, overpaid, arrogant and shite.
Not sure Eversteve, look at this for a silver lining – finally somebody is willing to put a few quid in!
