SOS Sources: Gosling rejected 15k per week

Sources close to SOS1878 are indicating that while the club are slightly to blame for Dan Gosling’s acrimonious departure from Goodison, his exit is mainly due to the England U21 midfielder rejecting a £15,000 per week contract extension.

Gosling, who is currently three months into a cruciate knee ligamment injury, is reportedly set to sign for either Sunderland or Newcastle.

We are led to believe that Everton didn’t know the complete ins and outs of Gosling’s contract; but verbally offered him a slight increase on his current wage to £15,000, an offer that Gosling supposedly turned down.

From the outside looking in, one might surmise that Gosling feels undervalued at Everton when the likes of Jack Rodwell are signing lucrative new deals and that he’ll be able to get a better offer elsewhere in the Premier League.

The situation, it would appear, is still up in the air, and unless Everton offer Gosling the deal he desires it seems his fledging Everton career has come to an end, 30 months after signing for £1.5 million from Plymouth Argyle.

    Ta Ra La!

Wasn’t that nice knowing ya, ya greedy git!

  3. Andy A says:

Difference is that Rodwell’s a brilliant player with the right attitude who deserved a lucrative contract, not some snot nosed average and seemingly greedy prick who will live to regret the day he walked out on this club..I dont wish him any ill will because he gave me 1 of the best nights of my life with his goal against the shite, but I’ve lost a great amount of respect for the lad, without particularly being too bothered he’s left us

How can he just walk when he’s got a year left on his contract. What a complete fuck up. Its one thing after another with this club.

    Go sling yer hook!

  8. wolf says:

club insider say’s that he and agent agreed the deal said no need to rush the paperwork we’ll sign then did one as soon as his last contract ended, little S**T

  9. Frank Smith says:

Hope he doesn’t recover from the cruciate injury if he walks… On the other hand if he goes for a free transfer and signs for us after a change of heart then hope he blossoms well. Yup, know that’s a shit attitude to have but it’s the one I gots anyways.

15k a week is nothing, lets be honest. The lad is free to negotiate a better deal elsewhere if that is what he wants, just as any of us likely would if we weren’t supporters. People need to be realistic.

Hey Gosling, i knew your mum, she was a good goose! this club doesn’t need your sh*te attitude and disloyalty. I can’t see a host of top premier clubs waiting to gobble you up! nope! just lesser clubs. ps. i also knew your grandmother she was a great goose!

  12. MrT says:

A case of a young goose turning out to be an ugly duck. Demanding a centarl midfield role?? Maybe back at Plymouth. Devious behaviour from the upstart and his agent.

    Wolf.

Why believe a ‘club insider’? Their hardly likely to point the finger yet more ineptitude by Kenshite and his excuse for a board.

  14. Paul Daly says:

    See yer.

  15. Carl Cole says:

Hope the blues win the appeal.

  16. Jethro says:

He isn’t worth more than £15k. This isn’t Rodwell or Rooney. I doubt that he’ll ever break into the England side.
