Beckford completes medical ahead of Everton move
SOS sources – and they haven’t been wrong yet for those who follow us regularly – are informing us that Leeds United’s Jermaine Beckford has been at Finch Farm today completing a medical ahead of his long anticipated move to Goodison Park.
The move for Beckford, who will join on a free transfer when his contract officially expires on July 1st, is likely to be met with mixed feelings amongst Evertonians.
Despite the player having shown the pedigree to compete at the top level with sterling displays against both Manchester United and Tottenham in his sides FA Cup run last season, there will undoubtedly be those who will doubt whether this is the type of signing to propel us into a top 4 berth.
We at SOS believe the signing to be a ‘no-brainer’ and a no lose situation for the club, and with a player like Beckford, who constantly plays on the shoulder and simply LIVES for goals……we feel the potential upside(signing the next ‘Ian Wright’) far outweigh any negatives.
And pissing Ken Bates off can never be a bad thing……..two bob club indeed Ken, jog on!!
As ‘Blue Bill’ would say, “watch this space” for the official unveiling.

As for Beckford going anywhere for free, so be it,
but beware, like us Leeds fans, you need to be on
his back every game to get him to do something,
otherwise he’s a passenger.

beckfords pace is enough to frighten anyone, ask wes brown (3.1.10) and his prowess in front of goal is not in doubt
but like the previous post says, you have to keep on at him and he can go missing,but when hes hot hes rouge hot. i hope for the lad that he makes it there coz i think hes an honest lad whose day has come, its up to him wether he grabs his opportunity with both hands. everton are getting him for nowt and he wont be on massive wages. hes well worth a punt

Beckford is worth a punt for his pace and finishing. That’s all he has though and if that’s enough for the PL I’m not sure. I’ve almost forgot what a premiership striker looks like!
We’ll be back soon enough though and the PL will be better for it.
I am not a huge fan of Ken Bates, but when he said Everton was a 2 bob club it was said as a joke!!! Hope Beckford makes it happen at Everton. Thanks for scoring the goal that got us promoted. It’s a pity he doesn’t want to stay at Leeds but I suppose he feels time isn’t on his side and Heaven only knows how long it will take Leeds to get back to the Premiership.

Ken Bates made those remarks in jest and have been taken totally out of context by the media and anyone going on the defensive over it is not doing much to help our image of ‘Scousers have a good sense of humour’.

Beckford seriously isnt worth arguing over lads…id have like to have seen him have a few games in the championship…when Leeds eventually got there that is.
Unfortunately Leeds got there too late and his contract was up.
The jump from league 1 to championship isnt that big, the championship to the prem is incredible.
I can see him being sold under contract by us in Jan or next summer.
beckford is just a lazy twat, he wont challenge for any ball that does not come directly to his feet, if he looses a ball, he will not chase it and win it back, instead you will find that he will just moan to the ref, and start giving the crowd V signs, on more than one occasion he has insulted the fans that paid his wages.

Lee – In answer to your question we last won the league (admittingly not PL) in 1991-1992. When was yours oh I do beleive it was 1986-87 as you are obviously not up on the history of your club. As for being inbred coming from Liverpool or even supporting a club from that area it is laughable.
