It would seem Joey is almost certainly leaving in the summer as would have far too many centre halves at the club

If as reported we are interested in this lad and get him, where does that leave the fans 1st love Jags? Heitinga will almost certainly be 1st choice centre half and i dont think Moyes would spend 8-10m on player to sit him on the bench. Has Moyes seen enough of Jags return to convince him we need to look elsewhere, it certainly seems like that to me.

You haven't got a clue have you? This is idle speculation based on nothing.
Why not wait until september? Thats when the club does its transfer business.

All your thought-out reasoning should tell you that this rumour is bullshit.

Jags and Heitinga would be my CBs next season but David Moyes'? I think not. Stop being a troll.

Even if all was true (which it hardly is) by what mad science is Johnny going to be 1st choice CB? He was clearly 3rd choice this season considering when Jags came back he was put in midfield and Distin was even ahead of him.

There was me thinking Heitinga was playing in the middle because Fellaini was injured. Apparently not

You must be one of the few blues who dont consider Tinga to be 1st choice centre half

This is a mute argument, there's nothing to debate so stop looking for handbag fights.
I consider Jagielka to be our number 1 CB, I consider Heitinga to be our number 2 CB.
I was merely debating the logic that David Moyes would see Heitinga as number 1 CB in the occurrence that he signed another CB.
Stop picking peanuts out of poo.

He's not though is he mate.
I would like him to be but the simple fact is that he isn't.
I think we'd all agree that Distin is the dodgy one but unless you have been living in a cave these last 8 years you will know Moyes obsession with having a certain quota of 'big' players in the team.
Can you realistically see him playing with 2 sub 6 ft centre halves? I can't.

Dont agree with much of that except the last bit. Tinga is quite clearly the number one choice at centre half, he oozes class there and was only in the centre mid role because there was no one else.
Distin gets a very raw deal from certain qrters, he isnt anything special but he is a solid defender who in his 1st season has played with about 5 different partners this year.
I do agree on the last bit, the Distin/Heitinga partnership looks much better than the Jag/Heitinga partnership but maybe Moyes doesnt want either which is why he is looking at this guy. Fully fit team Heitinga has to play centre half, just a question of who plays with him

Rodwell was available and had played there much of the first half of the season.

Not ready yet, quite clearly better used as Super sub. His time will come though, hopefully with him still wearing an Everton shirt
